Blog Post 6

We’ve reached the final blog post and I’m just as sad as you. It’s been a journey so far but thankfully my best adventure of 20 time occurred this week, so fret no more, sit back, and relax. It’s the Monday after Thanksgiving break and people are starting to return to the regular schedule of school, but my mind is on one thing. Getting back to the game. I would soon have that wish because the following day at 7:00 am I was boarding a flight to Sarasota, Florida for a soccer showcase. That’s right, from Tuesday through Sunday, instead of being at school I was at the field. The teams I faced consisted of Real Salt Lake, Sporting Kansas City, and FC Golden State. The teams were good but we were better. We finished the showcase undefeated and it was a great experience in Florida with my friends doing what I love. Experiences like these are what made me fall in love with the game from such a young age and what truly make the game of soccer so beautiful. Thanks for being along on this journey throughout this process. Hope you enjoyed!

Blog Post 5

Welcome to Blog numero cinco, glad you could make it! If your wondering why the title is half English and half Spanish, it is that way to reflect the place I visited this week. My rusty Spanish was put to the test when I traveled all the way to Dallas, Texas. Once again leaving school on a Friday, but this time the trip also included sunday. The reason for this being that we had multiple games. The first being against FC Dallas, one of the top MLS youth academies, and the other against the reigning MLS youth champions Solar Soccer Club. The first game against a predominantly Latino FC Dallas team was incredibly tough and we ended up losing to an overtime goal 2-1. The next day however, we bounced back against the reigning champs and beat them 1-0 on their home field at the University of Dallas. Texas is a beautiful place with a multitude of different cultures, languages, and customs that make the state so great. I recommend a visit for anyone who has never been, but advise you practice your Spanish just in case you need it. That’s all for this week thanks for reading! Come back for the final post coming soon!

Blog Post 4

Hey all! Welcome back to yet another blog post by yours truly. Today I will be talking about the MLS Eastern Conference Final between Atlanta United and Toronto FC . The final took place this week in the city of Atlanta at Mercedes Benz Stadium. The defending champions Atlanta scored early on in the match as it looked like they would come out on top once again. The crowd of almost 80,000 diverse fans from the city made sure their presence was felt throughout the whole game when supporting Atlanta. Unfortunately however, things began to change when Toronto leveled the score of the game at 1-1. Things began to turn sour for Atlanta United as they were being outplayed badly. Then Toronto scored a second time gaining the lead 2-1. The game ended with this scoreline after a very exciting 90 minutes of football. It was a shame Atlanta United could not replicate the success they had with winning the championship last year, but they have a very promising future ahead of them. I look forward to watching them on their journey in the MLS in the upcoming years. Thanks for reading and come back next week for more!

Blog Post 3

Welcome back everyone for week 3 of my blog! Today I’m going to be talking about my weekend and what I did, so let’s get right into it. On Friday I arrived at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport around midday with the rest of my team. If your wondering, yes, that means I did have to miss school. Luckily though It was an excused absence and there was not a boatload of assignments needed to be done that day. Fast forward to Orlando, Florida where we landed around 5:20 pm. Following this was a grand team dinner between all the players and the coaches wrapping up around 8:30 pm. Then it was lights out at 9:30 pm to prepare for a big game the next day. After a tough battle, the match ended up in a 2-2 draw between my team Atlanta United, and the opposing team Orlando City. We then quickly showered and changed in the locker rooms provided at the facility for a quick turnaround to catch our flight. I had gotten accustomed to the many frequent but quick overnight travels for soccer. Arriving back home in Atlanta that same Saturday evening, completing my weekend. If you enjoyed, make sure to come back next week for more content. Thanks!

Blog Post 2

Hey Everyone! Thanks for coming back for my second week of blogging. This week I researched the cultural impact of soccer. The game that Millions of people play worldwide and is the most popular sport globally. Soccer has an immense effect on all different types of people. For example, many children of poorer backgrounds use soccer as a means to escape the hardships in their life and to hopefully make a living off the sport if talented enough. While this is true, soccer also impacts people of higher economic status just as frequently. The sport of soccer connects people that would have never been together, takes people to places they would have never traveled to, and gives people experiences that will last a lifetime. Next week I will be travelling for a big soccer match in another state, so tune into next week’s blog to be updated on that experience.

Blog Post 1

Hi! Welcome to my Blog, for the first week I accomplished the setup of my website. It took some time getting used to the many different features that Word press has to offer. Especially since this was the first site that I have created, I had to get over the beginning humps of initial creation. There are many different parts that make up my singular site. For Example, the home page, the blog page which will be updated weekly, and multiple info pages. The blog is a work in progress that I will continue to edit throughout the whole process of my 20 Time. The next step in my process will be Researching the cultural impact of soccer and why so many view it as the beautiful game. Due to my position on the youth team at Atlanta United, I can provide a unique insight into the actual impact of Atlanta United better than an outsider.
